Dynamics of Human Motion
We developed tiny wireless inertial measurement units for sports equipment in order to study the performance of athletes. Our designs and algorithms enable one to evaluate athletic performance right on the field of play and to a degree that cannot be measured by the naked eye or camera. Examples of our research include novel prototypes for sports such as baseball/softball, bowling, golf, hockey, basketball, fly fishing, football, among others. These prototypes and supporting patents have been licensed by numerous companies in the sports industry, including several start-up companies, who have brought our inventions to the marketplace.
